Study Guide

Study Guide
Welcome to the French Study Guide, which is designed to help you improve your French by making use of recommended web sites and especially designed interactive activities. You may use this guide in any way you like, but it is probably best to select the correct level and gradually work through the unit. Each unit is designed to include the use of a range of language skills with the degree of difficulty gradually increasing as the unit progresses.

The first unit generally focuses on developing skills necessary for the Foundation Tier e.g. key vocabulary, basic grammar, relatively easy reading/listening tasks, GCSE Foundation Tier revision exercises. The following unit concentrates on helping students who are aiming at the Higher Tier and beyond by recommending activities such as: extra vocabulary, advanced grammar, more complex reading/listening tasks, GCSE Higher Tier revision exercises and activities to help improve your knowledge of French society and culture.

The AS level unit is designed to try and help you bridge the gap between the requirements of GCSE and the increased demands of the AS course. You should try to complete as many of the activities as possible before starting your AS course, but don’t worry if you find some of the exercises a bit hard at this stage.

Remember if there are any words that you want to know then you can consult the On-line Dictionary in the Reference section or you can use the Verb Conjugator in the Grammar section to find the correct part of any verb.

If you have any suggestions or comments please contact us by using the e-mail address at the bottom of the Further Information section of the Modern Languages Homepage. Bon courage!
