Study Guide > AS Level unit

AS Level unit

This unit is divided up into different sections, enabling you to develop the skills necessary for success at this level. Probably the biggest difference between GCSE and AS level for many students is the need to write more accurately. By completing the activities in the Grammar section you should be able to develop a clear understanding of the basic grammatical principles.

The activities in the Listening section will help you to improve your listening skills by providing you with more extended recordings, as well as helping to build up vocabulary, subject knowledge and oral skills.

A feature of the AS/A level courses is the requirement to show knowledge and understanding of France. This is difficult to achieve without visiting France, but by carrying out the exercises in the General Knowledge section you should be able to learn a lot more about France and French-speaking countries.

Finally, if you are feeling adventurous and would like something a bit more challenging you could have a go at some of the Revision activities based on our AS course.
