The NEAB Anthology

The Poets are…

  • Carol Ann Duffy
  • Simon Armitage
  • Ted Hughes

And you will study

Poems from Other Cultures and Traditions

There is plenty of good help on the Bitesize Revision site, but if you have begun studying your poets this exercise on planning and writing good answers might be helpful

Remember!

  • You only have half an hour to answer the question!
  • Speed is important but also the need to plan your answer
  • You can't write down everything about your poems in half an hour
  • You must write a short but relevant answer

DON'T....
just give an account of what the poems are about

DO...
plan an answer that fits what the question is asking for

Usually you will be asked to write about two poems of your choice and say how they tackle or present a topic..

Or you might be given one poem as a starting point and base an answer on this...

Usually you are given three bullet points as hints on planning your answer

There is more information contained within the Fact or Opinion section found on the drop down menu under Neab.
