BIOLOGY EXCELLENCE
THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM.

The human heart is the main organ in the circulatory system. It beats over 100,000 times a day and if you live an average life, it will beat around two and a half thousand million times in a lifetime and never stops.
Your heart will beat for only a certain number of beats and then it will stop so it's a big advantage to have a low resting heart beat.

(Try and think why exercise is good for you if it raises your heart beat and causes your heart to beat faster.)

FUNCTION.

Its job is to transport substances around the body

Before you become an expert on the circulatory system, I would like you to

To listen to a heart beat try this next site - and see if you can work out which heart is beating the fastest.

Now you have seen the heart in action, learn more about the job of this vital system - Start here - .
